About Us:
Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) is a leading grassroots organization which goal is to seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) through promoting Islam as way of life.
ICNA is working for the betterment of society through self development, education, outreach and social services. ICNA offers many educational programs, conferences, convention, seminars, study circles, and workshops which help in developing individual and reforming society.
Mission Statement:
The mission of ICNA shall be to seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) through the struggle of Iqamat-ud-Deen (adopting the Islam as way of life) as spelled out in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Programs:
1. To invite mankind to submit to the Creator by using all means of communications.
2. To motivate Muslims to perform their duty of being witnesses unto mankind by their words and deeds.
3. To organize those who agree to work for this cause in the discipline of ICNA.
4. To offer educational and training opportunities to increase Islamic knowledge, to enhance character, and to develop skills for all those who are associated with ICNA.
5. To oppose immorality and oppression in all forms, and support efforts for civil liberties and socio-economic justice in the society.
6. To strengthen the bond of humanity by serving all those in need anywhere in the world, with special focus on our neighborhood across North America.
7. To cooperate with other organizations for the implementation of this program and unity in the ummah.
Organization
Charter and By-Laws
ICNA's operational policies and procedures are governed by a documented called Charter and By-Laws. The Charter and By-Laws are based upon the guidance from Quran and Sunnah.
Membership
A person can become member of ICNA if he/she agrees with ICNA goal and program.
General Assembly Membership (MGA)
Any Member can become a member of General Assembly when he/she thoroughly studied the charter and bylaws, shows the commitment and dedication to ICNA and meet such requirements discussed in bylaws.
President (Ameer)
The president of the ICNA is elected by direct vote from it members of general assembly for two year term. The president can be reelected for consecutive two terms.
Executive Council
Executive Council is a selected body available to president of ICNA to help make important decisions. Five members of Executive Council are appointed by the president with the consultation of Majlis As-shura.
Consultative body (Majlis Ash-shura)
Consultative body (Majlis Ash-shura) is an elected body by the MGA for two years. The number of Consultative body varies and depends on the number of Members in General Assembly.
